accidental heart

I made an accidental heart in my coffee. Must be the new roast. I have got such a sweet tooth. Coffee with some sort of cake or cookie is like heaven to me.

▶ Indie Mom and the Reluctant Banker: The oven. Seems weird to roast on a pan even though i know you can do it.

▶ Stuffedmice: You can definitely taste that it is fresher than most coffee you buy but the biggest difference from standard coffee, i think, is in grinding the coffee right before you make it.

green beans

I have taken my coffee obsession to a whole new level: home roasting! This weekend my sister brought me three kg of green Kenya AA+ beans from Emofabrik and i am now on my second round of roasting! Its fun and surprisingly easy. Even as a total beginner you can get a really good cup of freshly roasted coffee!

▶ Brit: Mine very very moist -i had the same thought the first time i baked them, but they really do stay very moist. Im baking more today :) Elinor is pretty moody about the stool -sometimes she loves it and other times she is NOT in the mood. This girl knows what she wants!
▶ Lisen: Rufus has the coldest and wettest nose that comes and wakes you up in the morning!

warm me

I just burned three of my fingers on the stove and im about to cook dinner. ouch. Tuesday is school day so i am a bit tired and in need for some warm colours.

▶ Girl heart food: When you shoot in raw you can edit your photos on many more parameters than with jpg, because they are not compressed. For example you can change the white balance and exposure -if you are a very good and patient photographer you maybe just do this when you shoot, but if you are like me, its nice to do a little touch up.

▶ Lisen: i know -thats the problem with this bottle -i need more sorrows and sorrows are the last thing i need.
▶ Kate: I use an Olympus e-520 and it differs what i edit of course. But yes, sometimes i edit exposure -and also the white balance. I usually just play around a bit trying not to process the photos too much.

drink your sorrows away

Luckily i have good friends who understand my weakness for good graphic design. Recently i got this exceptionally beautiful bottle of Mikkeller beer from my friend Sigrid (the beer hasn't got anything to do with the red wine glass next to it :)). The design is by Femmes Regionales. She had been admiring the bottle for a long time and im so happy she chose to give it to me -now i just have to wait for a really depressing day to drink it :) On another note i recently started shooting in raw again. i haven't done that in a long time since i was annoyed by the heavy files, but either i have gotten more patient or my computer has gotten quicker, cus now im just enjoying the incredible control you get from it.

▶ Lisen: So funny you write that about the hair! it is my sister in the picture and she had just gotten a haircut that day, so we look even more like each other. So last night i decided to cut my hair short which i had been contemplating for a long time, and it ended up looking like a shorter version of my sisters hair so we now look even even even more like each other.. and ohh.. lille skorpan -i danmark hedder han Tvebak og det er måske den sørgeligste bog i hele verden!

family month

A month full of family visits is over. All of our family live pretty far away and for the past month we have had visits something like every weekend. Today my sister and her husband left. I just love seeing our family with Elinor.

weak

i have a weak spot for good graphic design in every day things. sometimes its hard to control! the other day i bought this porridge mix 100% because of the packaging... don't tell D.. now i just have to pull myself together and cook some porridge! (My sister is playing at club Beta here in Copenhagen tonight! come listen!)

hello sun!

after lots and lots of snow snow snow the sun has come out! i feel like i haven't seen it for a year. (i have updated and finished the oh. project)

birthdaybook

On her four month birthday Elinor got a perfect gift: A book about birthdays by the magnificent Emma Adbåge! And in danish even! Tusind, tusind tak Emma! The book is so cool and full of little details you could spend hours looking at! The redhead in the third picture with the dog is SO D -he does not like our royalfamily - I love the mosquitoes in the fourth picture - and the family in the last picture is SO us -celebrating every time Elinor is one month older!

Today Elinor is four months old.

Last night i went to the movies for the first time in over a year. Luckily it was such a good movie.

family history

i have been assembling photo albums. I finally got around to printing some of my photos -some are going on the wall and others ended up in these albums. I hope i will get some kodak moments worthy of this site.

weather

the weather is changing so i need to post my snow photos before its too late. for a while there you could almost walk to Sweden (a fact that brings up bad memories for us danes). It might just be wishful thinking that spring is on its way, but im willing to live the dream a bit.

▶ Ai: we just bought new pacifiers for Elinor and they were called moshi moshi kawaii -they are very kawaii indeed!
