these two cool-cats -well dogs- were just too perfect to resist! Erin over at Design for Mankind made a photo shoot with her dogs and turned it into a calender! i just love this picture! ✴ HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! thank you for ALL of your great comments and thoughts through the last year! i can't believe that i have only been blogging for little under one year! - my anniversary is coming up in january - i will have to think of something fun to do - And i can't believe all the crazy things that have happend in 2008! like getting married!!! Tonight we are staying in with good food and good movies, just D and I (and rufus). Its our special way of celebrating new years and we love it! anyone who wants a quiet and cozy new years are welcome to join us! Here is to 2009!

cave people

we got the craziest, most fantastic gift from my parents! a skull cave! everyone should have one! when we first saw it in a store and fell in love with it, we imagined how great it would be for kids and for rufus, but we did not dear to hope that it was actually big enough to become the perfect reading cave! i want to stay in there all the time and its the perfect place to escape to! thank you!

Maria: The necklace is fantastic. one of my friends did not believe i had just gotten it, she thought i had always had it, because it suits me so perfectly!
Famapa: I did make a wish-list, but a lot of it is pure genius on the gift givers part: the dress, the book, the twig -actually only the necklace was on my list!
Brinja: Det var virkelig sjovt at opdage det på arbjede (mit job er at læse aviserne)! godt nytår!
Laura: Yeah, more places should have mint twigs!
Kristi: Im so glad that you also find the balloons magical -i keep thinking about them too! thanks for the sweet comments and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Tuesday

schwag

i got some pretty amazing presents this christmas! here are some of them: a super nice Ole Henriksen body-scrub! Happy socks! -still to arrive though! a perfect Richard Colman book in really good quality and with some great sketches -super inspirational. An amazing Marjan Pejoski dress -he is the designer behind Björks amazing swan dress! flower-patterned silk personally brought home from a trip to Thailand by a little old lady we know! KÆP -a delicious mint green painted stick that symbolises "a break from the eternal hunt for happiness" and the too-good-to-be-true Tatty Devine moustache necklace ...tomorrow i will show you the biggest and craziest gift D and i got...

Karin: And you too!
B: det er fantastisk at være hjemme! godt nytår!
Sophie: oh thank you so much for your comment! i will definitely think of doing some DIY-guides! -tomorrow will probably be a sushi one- i often forget to document the process + i often just experiment with out a plan :) -both flag-line and pillows are really simple: just cut as many colourful triangles as you can -take some and zig-zag on to a clothing-line for example and take others and sew them together in rows, then sew the rows together and cut the ends of to make a square!
Katrine: jeg tror måske det er meget sigende for bloggere... Brinja var i Living tillæget i Jyllands Posten søndag! lang og flot artikel med rigtig gode billeder!
Luiy: And im so glad that you do!

Monday

h o m e

i am a home-person! I l o v e being at home! After an amazing christmas holiday with my family and D's it feels soooo good being home again! getting into my routine again. making a cappuccino, flicking through a paper and getting back to all of your blogs that i have missed during the holidays! settling in. i need my home time and my quiet time! its the best .....oh maybe except that when i sat down to drink my coffee after taking the picture, it tasted so bad -you know of tobacco, as coffee can, when its gone bad :( A cool thing is that the article you can almost see in the paper in the picture is about Brinja and her home and decorating style! really cool pictures!

christmas lights

the little lights of christmas. im trying to get my body and mind in to gear again. the christmas holiday was much needed and its hard to let it go again!

Sylvester and mama: GODT NyTÅR! jeres jul så også ret fantastisk ud!
Sandra: I will! -i think everybody in my family think of me when they see triangles too! luckily my sister loved the pillows! -and the matching flag-line i made for them!
Good morning terrorism: Good name youve got! thank you! i really like how the pillows turned out too!

Sunday

christmas-presents-making

here are some shots from my christmas present production, which i couldn't very well show before christmas :) we are home again and trying to unpack our holiday mess!

Saturday

love-balloons

while visiting my parents my dad showed us a little left-over miracle from our summer-wedding: out of the almost 200 balloons, of which many caved in quickly under the burning sun during the party, two were left behind inside and are still lying in a window overlooking the garden. i find that sort of magical.

Fanny: merry christmas to you and bill and the cats! i love out christmastree -its just right! happy new year!
Lisen: Its been such a good holiday so far! -i have no time to comment anywhere but im sending out happy holiday-thoughts to everyone! So funny about Ninja-Hanna -i just recently found her blog. I like that the world is not such a big place after all! Ivan and his parents LOVED your poster! Happy new year!
Lea: Det var så hyggeligt at se jeres version af dinner-movie-walk temaet! Måske kan vi drikke en kop kaffe inden nytår?
Laura: I hope some of the franticness lead to some calm holiday moments! merry christmas
Steph: We keep returning to halifax -i really love their burgers! ...could go for one right now... GOD JUL og GODT NYTÅR!
Stefanie: I will definately make a little home-made-sushi-guide! maybe for new years eve! -and real christmas candles are the only right thing as far as im concerned!
Emma: Hope your christmas was wonderful too! it felt so good to indulge in the christmas mood for just a week instead of a whole month! i think i will have the same strategy next year! Happy new year!
Famapa: Yeah i really like vicky christina barcelona! everytime i think of it that the opening song plays automatic in my head! "barcelooonaaa..." merry christmas and happy new year!
Sasha: I was some how a good match for the movie! even if a paella may seem more appropriate :)
Sopchan: merry, merry christmas! i hope you found some relieve over the holiday. and im glad if my little blog can be a breathing space!
Stride: Glæderlig jul -og godt nytår!
Kiwitz: Thank you so much -it took some time to gather all those pictures, but its always fun to look back!
Sylvia Park: Thank you so much! i actually did not know what Kimbap meant but from a google-picture search it looks like you are right :)
Hello Sparrow: :) that so funny -i can see what you mean!
Maria: glædelig jul og godt nytår! actually the first christmas hello was from my parents summer-house! it such a wonderful place in the middle of nowhere AND very important, with a fireplace! i love that!
Pappi: Jubiii -pappi-kommentar!
B: Tak for i går! det var rigtig hyggeligt!

Thursday

christmas eve

such a wonderful christmas! food, people, traditions and presents! wow. hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday too! i will have to show you all of my many incredible gifts later!

Wednesday

christmas hello

a little christmas hello with some of all the joy. In Denmark christmas eve is the big thing, and i can't wait! Merry Christmas to all you sweet commentors! i will reply to everyone a little later.

Saturday

christmas!

Im going into christmas-mode today. It has felt GREAT to ignore december so far and it feels just as GREAT to get in to the christmas mood now! -but it also means busy busy busy and that i probably won't update every day. i will check in again before christmas, but to all of you who won't; a merry merry christmas to all! G L Æ D E L I G J U L

dinner and a movie and a walk

last night was dinner (the best burgers and fries and aïoli and a christmas wheat-brew) and a movie (vicky christina barcelona) and a walk (approximately 45 min). it was perfect.

Laura: thanks! i turned in two major assignments in the last two weeks, so in january the judgement will come!
Emma: the final exams are in january -and then after that mores studies in DK -but i will no longer be going twice a week. i think i will keep visiting though. its a nice place to go!
pamplemousse: Well its almost hard to answer that question: i am finishing a semester in project management, but my major is rhetoric which i study in Denmark -next fall i will probably take a my masters in digital design and communications -and i have also studied semesters in typography and graphic design and subculture studies. So its quite a mix!
Fanny: he is the most photogenic part of my life :)

Friday

merry christmas malmö

my time studying in malmö is almost over and i will only be going across øresund a few times in january. I will miss it but at the same time i will be good to focus more on copenhagen and being split between two cities like that. this was a little walk i took while waiting for my train back home.

Hanna: You are welcome!
Katrine: I love that picture too. it was such a hot summer day and we were just happy and a little hungover (some more than others) -and yes, he did accept the fries and burger offer! Hjørnegrillen i silkeborg er stedet!
Mieke&Willems: Thank you! the photos from your store look so lovely! i want to go there :)
Steph: That is the sweetest comment ever! you are so sweet! And yes im so proud that my sister's album has gotten such great reviews!
Roberta: Thanks -Rufus is the best! italians are really cute too! so small!

Thursday

2x5 things i love every day

i was tagged twice this week for "5 things i love every day" -by the lovely ladies at 1911 and Smosch! so i thought i would do 10 things! i have looked through the archives and found a whole bunch of photos to illustrate these things that i love:
my coffee: double espresso + foamed milk hanging out with rufus! being married! reading inspiring blogs delicious food my camera! our home having to walk the dog everyday -even if i sometimes complaint my bed creating and crafting. now for the tagging: Ninja Hanna, Laura, Katrine, Sarah and Hanna

emma: your hat looks so good!
laura: i was told to wait untill i doesn't hurt any more -and then wait another month! unfortunately i can feel it is not time yet.
anne: yes, carpal tunnel really makes you realize how much you need your hands!
Ninja Hanna: i LOVE LOVE LOVE it! perfect skeleton dance!
Júlía: you have never been there? we were there all the time! good stuff!
Alice: i know, i know -but its not just the pain you can feel from your own elbows -its just as much the pain other peoples elbows can cause you!
Sandra: Here you go!

Wednesday

three boxes and some knitting

okay, so im not supposed to knit, but i think its okay if i only knit like five needles at time and only two times a day. who knew it would be so hard keeping off knitting? The three boxes all stand on my desk. The red money box is a gift from D -he has one in blue from his childhood, and i decorated mine with letters. The little round plastic box i bought in Frida frænka in Reykjavik and it keeps jewellery. And the little wooden box was made my me when i was like.. 10 or 11 and i stuck some plastic rabbits on the top and have had it with me ever since. it often contains coins.

Sopchan: So you do know the elbow-pain! good :)
Katrine: So disappointing! i kept staring envious at D all day!
Lea: Yeah, and i know i was awake like 6.10 and the earthquake was 6.20! so disappointing!
Hanna: Yes its such a mean syndrome! (much like the meanness of the elbow) I have a really hard time accepting the limits!
Marieke: Hi! so good to hear from you!
Maria: im most scared for our old old building! hope it does not crack! -and yeah i mostly just make up patterns -such as the skulls you can kinda see in the one picture. I also have these great needlepoint booklets from the sixties with animals of the forest and sights in copenhagen! i will show them!
Anne: Ha, ha! its so funny how you try to rationalise wired sounds and even the earth moving! -it was so funny to hear D realizing that it was not in fact our refrigerator!

Tuesday

earthquake

there was an earthquake in denmark and sweden this morning! that n.e.v.e.r happens! last time was in 1985 and there has not been one of this size since 1934. and i slept through it. okay so it was only about 5 sec and hardly anything worth noticing if you have experienced a real earthquake, but im quite disappointed that i just slept through it! D woke up! ...he thought it was our old refrigerator giving up! (i love how this illustration shows some weird shake of the countries! uhhh.. earthquake!)
I still can't knit because of my carpal tunnel syndrome so i do some embroidery instead. its nice too. i have alot of unfinished projects.

Bettina: Godt at du er med mig! jeg forstår ikke det manglende fokus på dette område!
Em: I don't deny that i would miss my elbow, but that pain is SO bad! and when we sleep D always gives me an elbow in the head!
Nazara: YES i would read your blog daily if you updated!! do it!
Sopchan: Okay okay. its good that some people sticks up for the elbow, but i just think we don't pay enough attention to how evil it can be! a hard elbow-poke is painful!
Fanny: exactly! well i maybe would not say funny! i would say PAINFUL :) monday is good but friday will be better!
Lea: I think we are supposed to arrange the christmasparty now that marianne is gone! and Lasse moved aswell right?

Monday

elbow

lately i have been thinking a lot about how the elbow is the most evil and meanest part of the body! okay, okay, so it is good the you can bend your arm, but other than that! the elbow is not useful for anything good and all you get from it is evil pokes and pain!

Laura: Yeah she does really nice work!
Stefanie: They were! very christmassy!
Niller: lucky, lucky, lucky! have you met any of the new people in the house?
Lea: But thats just because the soya is SO BIG! i love big bottles like that! have you seen the big olive oil in Rema1000? I like the idea of giving back some of what you have borrowed through the year!
Fanny: I wish we could dog-sit for somebody! it would be so funny to see rufus with another dog at home!
Sopchan: Yep, that is the king allright!
Myszy: :) we have been thinking about giving the guy above us soft slippers and headphones!!
Gracia: I have never had sweet neighbours like this before either. it feels good!
Maria: Yeah i love having nice neighbours! it feel so good to have good people just across the hall!
Mado: Yes they are! you should check out more of Leas stuff! cute animals too!

Sunday

does your neighbour know you?

this little christmas surprise almost got me in the christmas mood! a knock on the door -nobody there, but this cool gift! its from your fantastic neighbours who knew we were running low on soya -because they borrowed some! they also included cookies and a beautiful card made by Lea herself! -we in turn left them some christmas beer, clementines and some garlic -because we borrowed some of theirs! it sounds like the start of a good tradition!
Fanny: Yeah i think so, but i think skeleton are good all year around!
Júlía: I think they are! Click the link in the post to see many more good ones!
Lea: Even more thank you!! so sweet!

Saturday

paper skeletons

I found these amazing paper cuts over at BibliOdyssey! wow! i love these little stories about cool skeletons getting married, starting bands and.. going to funerals drunk!

Mettch: they really are. when he was a puppy the were light grey! it looked crazy but beautiful!
Sarah: Ha ha, and they look nothing like whippets! how funny!
Joanne: I will tell him! he gets that look if there is something he isn't allowed to :) Studying at a café is a good idea! you can forget what you are doing.

Friday

gloom

its a bit of a cold and gloomy day today. i have lots of work to do, but i also have things to get out the way before i can begin. Im looking crazy forward to christmas vacation. im gonna read some good books! probably swedish criminal novels.

Emma and pigeon toed: cute indeed!
Laura: that is so perfect! looking forward to reading your blog! and thank you so much for finally saying hi!
Ana: oh thank you so much for your sweet comment! your blog looks really good! so glad to hear from you!
Alice: how cool! i would love to have seen it in real life!
Shell: Thanks for the sweet comment. im so sad to hear that a koala is not a bear. then why do they call them koala bears?? they are the best any way!

Thursday

im with the bear

this is the only christmas calendar i will follow this december.

darkness

it seems to be so dark these days that you can hardly get any light photos. its so easy miss the few hours of light. Actually im fine with it. darkness is not a bad thing.

Lisen: They are actually from ikea a few years back! i like them alot too!
Em: D and i could not figure out what cakes you were talking about until we realized it had to be the chocolates with sprinkles hanging in the window, right? they are pretty good -actually they are more pretty than good (tasty)
Maria: Lights are such a big part of decorations. the best part.
Alice: Hej Alice! Thank you for the sweet comment! i like your blog too! one can surely get ones heart broken in copenhagen. oops almost forgot about the duck! do you mean the one on my tumblr? i found it at fffffound -the picture should link to the source

Wednesday

a little christmas after all

I have tried to add a little christmas after all. Not alot though. still don't feel like celebrating december. Man, you could get addicted to getting over 50 comments in one day! thanks again. On another blogger note im mad at blogger!! it won't let me comment on any blogspot-blogs! including my own! so i have tried to write comments to alot of you, but have not succeeded :( -so i will make a general comment: You Are All So Cool!

Sandra: Thanks for clearing it up!
Karin: Hej Karin :)

hej, hello, bonjour, guten tag, ciao

Today im gonna do something i have been wanting to for a while. Maria has done it and Hanna too -Im gonna ask everybody who stops by and reads this post to say HI!
-its not that i mind people reading my blog with out saying anything, I LOVE you for stopping by! -but it would be so much fun to see who more of you are!

So say hi, hello or what ever you want to! maybe where you are reading from! -Hope you will play along!

Tommy: You should do it!
Katrine: Ja, det er fedt at se mærkelige forældre og teenage storesøstre spille sammen :)
Mieke Willems: I have never thought of it, but maybe thats what i like too! waking up in new ways!
Lisen: sleeping outside in the summer is the best! but your own bed is pretty good too! i always miss it when i am gone!
Emma: i slept very well, even if the mattresses are a bit harder than our bed!

Sunday

camp

D and i have set up camp in our kitchen. I love sleeping new places in your apartment. some place else than you own bed! like on mattresses in the kitchen watching dvds on the computer.

circus dog and memories

these two photos were hiding next to each other in my blog-folder -just waiting to be seen: Rufus being a real circus dog and an old photo of me and D taken by my friend Anna Margrethe at Roskilde Festival years and years ago. I hope the weekend treated you all well!

Famapa: I know! the sink is so fantastic! you can get a whole bathtub like that!! and with light in it!! ...i would like that... -Maybe its more how i would like decorating magazines to look!
Alice: They reminded me that i really like cactus! i had forgotten.
ola: Funny you should mention the spices! i actually believe that was originally my idea! its great, except some spices are to strong -like curry! they will smell up the place!
Steph.: You can't not love a koala-face like that!
Mothersvea: I like how the koala picture is so much like a portrait! i imagine he had to get it done for his access pass at his job :)
Sylvester and mama: we actually had the rest of the vegetable-thingy as a soup today! so good in the cold.

Saturday

the thing about bears

the thing about bears is..

makiko kudo

◤ i have had a crush on Makiko Kudo ever since i bought this great book on female, Japanese art, Drop Dead Cute, years ago. its just naïve enough! just the right amount.◢

when skies are grey: thank you so much -this weekend is gonna be alot of work and not much play, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Isabelle: Hun er fantastisk!
Renzo: i think the most important thing in decorating is personality! with out personality any decorating style becomes too much or fake or cold -Scandinavian or not.
Katrine Ny: yeah they are very much so like a skyline! i just keep staring at them!

Friday

photography

◤i love these photographs by Ellyy. so simple! ◣ and i love chicken with cous cous and something mixed together of carrots, root beefs, ginger and coconut milk.◢

Hanna: I totally know what you mean!
Svanna: Hvor er du sød! glædelig glædelig jul til dig også! håber ikke travlheden bliver ved hele december! (for os begge to!) knus!
Lisen: Yes Sigrid always find the best flea-things! -just like you!
Lynn&Horst: Every one should have a kitten...
Stride: Ja, der er mange ting hjemme ved hende som jeg kunne fotografere! jeg må vende tilbage!
Mieke Willems: I know, i have discovered new things looking at the pictures that i didn't even see when im there!
Lea: It so easy to get jealous!
Anne: Thats for sure
Júlía: a: YES! b: YES! c: YES! (though i never really drink tea...)
Fenke: Yeah me too!
Sylvester and mama: you are very welcome! i like seeing "real" homes too -lots of personality!
Neftos: I know there are so many colours in her home! overwhelming!
Sandra: Rufus sighed of relief and curled into a little kringla on the bed! :)
Sopchan: Thank you! our places is perhaps a little less colourful -but personality is the important part in both sigrids and my place.

Thursday

wonderland

◤ my friend sigrid lives like in a magazine -except cooler! her apartment is a crazy wonderland of design, colours and style! ◣ I just had to do a little house tour of her place to show you!◢

Emma: Exactly! you have to allow your self to say no! i have some stuff in the attic i could put up, but i shouldn have to!
Gracia: Yes that first photo does look cozy -it actually helps a little with christmas-spirit looking at that photograph.
Mother svea: Thank you -and thank you for stopping by! your blog looks nice!
Steph.: Wow you spotted that drawing! and yes.. it is an i heart koala drawing that i made for D once...
Anne: My problem is that other peoples christmas mood almost annoys me!
Mutti: Ja, det ser ret hyggeligt ud i baggrunden! Det er de dumme eksameners skyld!

Wednesday

christmas?

◥for the first time i don't just feel not in a christmas mood -i feel in an anti-christmas mood!!◤ This is the extend of our christmas-decorations: I haven't even put the ribbons on the advent wreath.◣ I have allowed my self to wait until next week to put up more decorations -if i get in the mood.... can't wait to go home for christmas though! -i could just do without the rest of december.◢

Mutti: Jeg kan heller ikke vente!
Katrine ny: Han bliver 3 til februar! -eller 21 i hundeår :) og JA -det er min søster i min funky familie! sejt ik?
Lisen: yes i love that he was almost chubby then! actually the get more of the whippet look after only 2 months or so! this picture was taken before we got him. But i remember his nose being short and sweet when we got him!
Hanna: Aw, Rufus would love that! -thank you for drawing such nice dogs!
Schanett: Yes a wall full of dogs would look so good -it could also make a good poster!
Caro: he is just full of love!
David: :) Thank you so much! your photographs look really good!
Maria: Dogs can always make your day!
Sylvester and mama: exactly! rain calls for lots of puppy-love!

Tuesday

puppy love

◣ sometimes you need a little puppy love to get through the day! ◢ the first one is a drawing by the talented Hanna, which should be turned in to a wallpaper if you ask me. ◥ And the second one is, of course, rufus when he was just a little kid.◤

Carolina: i do love the trip across the bridge -but the rest of the journey is not nearly as pretty.
Steph: ha, ha, it is a really strange concept to study in another country than where you live! I haven't thought of it from the australian concept where everything is so far apart!
Veja Cecilia: Glad you like them!
Mettch: yeah, i don't understand why they don't already live with me!
Sylvester and mama: You are very welcome! glad you like them.

Monday

Margit Brundin

◤I have had these pictures open on my computer ever since i saw them, well, a really long time ago, over at Sandras place. These totally fabulously amazing lamps by Margit Brundin that i can't take my eyes of.◣ Some designs are fantastic because the depict something you can recognize from your own brain -and some designs, like these, are fantastic because they show you something even more amazing than you could imagine... ◥ i had to share them or they would be staring at me from the screen for eternity. ◢

øresund

i have to make this trip across øresund one too many times this week.. a lot of work lies ahead!

Anne: Tak, and to you too! we have to find a way of being with our family from far away!
Lisen: They are so sweet! i think weekends are the best when they are a little out of your control!
Lottie: I was wondering how it is with advent other places! i had a feeling that it was very much so a Scandinavian -and maybe german- thing. I guess its varies with in Denmark too.
Ashley: Im here to start cravings! good coffee and good cake is the best! im getting a craving too!
Anne (Yoroyoron): Hyggeligt at høre fra dig! godt at du kigger forbi -det gør jeg også på din blog :) D har lige præcis været hos Andersen og købt fantastiske blåbærtærter! godt set!
